Recent projects included July 2024 removal and reinstatement on a 16,200 sq ft asbestos roof space

It is very important that we maintain momentum across our Estates and we will be working with heads of department to implement plans of action over the weeks and months ahead – and indeed for the estate’s operations long into the future too”

The project situated in a working rural landscape occupied by multiple stakeholders required

a future proof replacement solution that met the demands and needs of the harsh environment and diverse use of the building.

The brief was to replace the asbestos roof with a cost effective thermally upgraded roofing product. 60mm insulated, corrugated steel roof sheets were used to span the area, contrast gable and end capping’s were also part of the spec to provide an upgrade to a previous outdated visual. A solution to replace existing Asbestos guttering required a deep set black pvc guttering and retro fit fascia board to support modern bracketing systems. All existing storm water drainage was inspected and cleared, the new package provided a durable modern solution to protect the building in to the future.

In a 28 day window, materials where sourced and delivered to site, set up of progressive perimeter scaffolding with internal crash deck and asbestos sectionally removed and replaced to completion.

Roy Holland, Operations manager Avendale UK, said : “There is a real sense of achievement when Executing safe and effective removal of Asbestos, Its rewarding to know the safety of others and the environment is guaranteed moving forward. The timing of the removal process was crucial, we carefully planned and implemented the process in sections to avoid internal disruption”.

Asbestos removal remains an import activity for Avendale, as asbestos regulations continue to tighten and adapt, we maintain our unwavering resolve to safe removal and reinstatement. The start of 2024, our team saw a 16% increase from both the public and private sector.  Inevitable increasing levels of asbestos deterioration as the years go by are creating fundamental challenges for those faced with asbestos in public or sensitive areas. Avendale’s comprehensive remove and reinstate solution has been an attractive option for many.
